Make stock
Preparing for the DIY job is a lot like preparing for cooking meals. You have to make sure you have everything you need on your hand and ready to go so that after you open that color, you don’t have to stop in the middle and run into the store.
Fortunately, Piry shared his list of essential supplies.
- Painters tape
- TARPS for external projects
- Rosin paper for the protection of internal floors, especially tile and hardwood
- Sensitive surface tape for the protection of any varnished surfaces
- High-quality color brushes
You may also need abrasive sponges and a common compound depending on the project scale, you are talking about.
Prepare surfaces
Jela / Alyssa Vela
Painting professionals know that a joke on a layer of color is not as easy as it seems. As the beer points out, you must first prepare your surface to ensure that the color adheres to everything you paint, be a wall or closet.
“Check that your surfaces are clean, dry and tupa,” he says.
How you prepare it could depend on which material you are facing. For example, external surfaces should be loaded with a plant-made drive made for oxidation, while anywhere with fats on the walls or ceiling should be washed with defrosting. Then it may need to be harmonized or tied.
If you work with a more specific surface, such as something great or with a high gloss, Pirery suggests grinding a abrasive pad or grinder, depending on the situation. These steps will all help log in after you are finally ready to shoot.
Use these Painting strips hack
You probably already know the importance of using masking or painting tape to indicate any edges or areas you want to avoid covering, but Piry gave us a great Pro Hack to clean your lines.
“Use a damp sponge to help keep the tape and prevent the color from becoming under the edge, leaving a clean line when the tape is removed,” he says.
Similarly, any binding seals of both garage doors and front doors can cause a similar problem. In this case, the piloria proposes the use of oil jelly to prevent seals from being adhered to fresh colors.
Do not ski on quality
Of course, there are many options adapted to budgets, but Piry says you should continue with caution when it comes to choosing the right brand.
Using high quality color, such as PPG or shining, is crucial, explains.
“Quality products provide better coverage, saving time and money reducing the need for an additional coat – especially when you make a color change,” he says.
Don’t rush with that other coat
He first says that there are a lot of contributions factors when it comes to deciding the best time to apply your next basic temperature and products that are two.
“On average, it is recommended for about four hours,” he says.
If you rush to apply a new coat prematurely, Piry warns that it can be dragged to the previous coat and leave a brush or an unwanted texture.
“It can also affect the way the color covers the previous color and can potentially create the need for an additional layer,” he says.
