This is a visually creative and emotionally rich animated film that mixes fantasies with real feelings. Animation is playful and changing style depending on whether to see Angel’s imagination or its true journey, which is the story to feel magical and unique. Children will enjoy silly moments, strange creatures and fast-step adventure.

At the same time, the film explores deeper topics such as fear, sadness and growing up. Some parts can be confusing or intense for the younger viewer, especially the danger scene and sorrow. The story touches with important topics such as courage, kindness and holding your dreams – but sometimes trying to do too suddenly. Since the film is originally made in French, English votes do not always suit the mouth movements, which could be a little interfering with some viewers. The story may not land for everything, but his creative style and cordial moments will like many families.

Talk to your kids about …

  • Families can talk about how angel’s imagination helps him deal with real life problems. Can you remember me time to help you imagine?

  • What do you think Squirrel says about being yourself? Why was it important that he tried – even if he didn’t fully succeed?

  • What did you notice about the way the film showed the real life in relation to the imagination? How did the animation changed and what did that tell you?

  • Angelo meets a lot of unusual characters in the woods. Who stood to you and why?

  • Why do you think Angelo continued, even when things are intimidated? What does that say about his character?
