Why do people leave coffee in the refrigerator
Instead of throwing old coffee grounds, think about use in your refrigerator to help solve bad scents.
Sofia Martinez, Cleaning Expert and Founder and Executive Director Austin, explains how great coffee is excellent in soak moisture and catch bad smells because they are porous.
“The body have small nodes that absorb unwanted odors, not simply mask them with a new odor,” Martinez says. “It is an unpleasant and organic method of refreshing refrigerators, without the use of chemical products or sprays.”

How works
Armando Calderon, the owner of joys of joy, explains how coffee act, because they naturally absorb and full nitrogen, which helps neutralize smell molecules, not just masking smells.
“Unlike the bakard soda, which is cleanly absorbing, coffee has an earthy scent that can subtly refresh the refrigerator while absorbing bad smells,” Calderon explains.
Martinez recommends that it put them in a small open container or a shallow bowl, then put it towards the back of the fridge so that it will not be bumped. It will allow him to have enough air circulation around him.
“If your refrigerator is bigger, or especially smelly, you could put a few small containers on different levels on shelves to help you do better and evenly,” Martinez says.

Tips for using the coffee field in the refrigerator
- Dry your coffee. Calderon emphasizes the importance of completely drying coffee before putting them in the fridge, because wet soil can create molds and more problems dealing with.
- Use a paper towel. Martinez suggests using some paper towels to spread coffee, before you place them in the fridge, so that each rest is dried.
