You don’t need to re-give the entire yard or install a luxurious outdoor kitchen to make a patio. We asked professionals to share a handful of simple changes you can implement to convert your external space on time for summer.

Color or stain

Elaine Santos, director Elaine Santos design, recommends a fresh color on the floor or deck to completely shift the mood. Or, if you feel creative, you can even paint tiles with dwarves, then add the stencent design.

Before you do anything, make sure you prepare the surface for painting or staining with cleansing firmly by cleaning the hard brush or the electric washing machine properly. Do all the necessary repairs: You can fill the cracks with a patching of concrete for a patio. And the sand down any particularly rough areas or serrated points, so you have a smooth and flat back floor. You want to make sure that the surface is completely dry before applying color or stain.

Santos advises you to make sure you use weather resistant formula and test the patches in the color of natural light before contacting the new shade.

Along the same lines, instead of changing the color or shade of the floor, think of a spray of the yard on the terrace you already have to give new life, Sarah Bronstein, the founder of the sukkha interior design, says. It recommends a fun color in Mat Finish.

Paint on some lights

Nothing gives a warm ambience except string lights, according to Bronstein. And there are different styles for choosing: frozen or clear spherical or bulbs, large or small globes, style pendant fell by the bulb and more. Whatever you decide to go, make sure the product is outdoors.

You will need to create a newly designated area on one side of the paved part or build a lifted fire on the existing paved part of the pavers. There are different precautions for building on the field opposite the yard, so be sure to explore them thoroughly before you start. If you are very Diy Savvy, think about building a fire table using a gas burner.

Add carpet

Designers agree that a new outdoor carpet can be accessible and striked.

“It adds color and texture, and simply really connects the space and raises it,” says Bronstein.
